Arrival in Delhi Your tour begins at London Heathrow with an overnight flight to Delhi. On Day 2, we check in to our five-star hotel in the heart of South Delhi. Day 3. Sightseeing in Delhi Today, we set out on two guided tours, starting in Old Delhi at the 17th- century Jama Masjid mosque before a rickshaw ride through the Chandni Chowk bazaars, passing the Red Fort and Gandhi memorial. In New Delhi, we visit the Katavya Path, the 16th- century tomb of Mughal emperor Humayun, and Gandhi Smriti Museum. Day 4. The UNESCO-listed Taj Mahal Travelling in AC Chair Class aboard the Gatimaan Express, we journey to Agra. Upon arrival, we head straight to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World – the Taj Mahal – for a tour of the iconic monument and its superb gardens. After checking in to our hotel, we visit the imposing red sandstone Agra Fort and see exquisite Mughal architecture, including the Moti Masjid. To Ranthambore We head into rural Rajasthan by coach, stopping at the spectacular Laxmi Vilas Palace for lunch enroute to Abhaneri. Here, we visit the 8th-century Chand Baori, or Moon Well, one of the oldest and deepest step wells in India, then continue to Ranthambore National Park. On Day 6, a naturalist joins us for a talk on the region’s wildlife before we embark on a safari to seek the elusive Bengal tiger, among other amazing species. Day 7 brings an early morning safari accompanied by local experts. We then travel by coach to the stunning ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur and check in to our five-star hotel before dinner. Day 8. Jaipur’s majestic Amber Fort Setting out after breakfast, we travel to the Amber Fort, believed to have been built around 1600, boarding Jeeps for the final stretch of the journey to the hilltop entrance. Exploring the palace’s striking rooms and ornamental Charbagh garden, it’s easy to be spellbound by Rajasthan’s history. After free time for lunch, our sightseeing continues with a visit to the 17th-century City Palace, which blends Mughal and Rajput architecture, and the Jantar Mantar, an 18th-century observatory. We also see the unique Palace of the Winds, with its pink and yellow sandstone façade. Days 9-11. Relaxing in Goa Today, we fly to Goa on the Arabian Coast, where we embark on a tour of Old Goa. We visit its famous churches, Panjim market and Latin Quarter before checking in to our beachfront hotel. Days 10 and 11 are free to explore this tranquil paradise as you wish. Relax at our luxurious hotel or one of the many stunning beaches nearby, visit Chorao Island to see its Portuguese colonial architecture or soak up history at the hilltop Maruit Temple or Reis Magos Fort. Day 12. Homeward bound This morning, we take a short internal flight to Mumbai. We then board our onwards flight to London Heathrow, where your Indian holiday concludes.
