Days 1-3. Arrival in Hanoi Your tour begins with a flight to Hanoi. Landing on Day 2, we check in to our five-star hotel and enjoy a free morning before a tour of the Old Quarter in the afternoon. On Day 3, we visit historic Ba Dinh Square and the Confucian Temple of Literature before enjoying an evening at leisure. Days 4 & 5. Cruising Ha Long Bay Today, we cruise the UNESCO-listed Ha Long Bay, stopping at Cat Ba Island, where you have a choice of excursions before reboarding for an overnight cruise. Waking on Day 5, we can enjoy the sunrise on Ha Long Bay before a kayak trip into Trinh Nu cave. Back in Hanoi, we observe a traditional water puppet show before boarding the Reunification Express for an overnight trip to Hue in private-use cabins. Days 6 & 7. Hue & Da Nang After checking in to our five-star hotel, we see the impressive Imperial Citadel and the Thien Mu pagoda. Days 8-10. Enchanting Hoi An On a guided tour, we stop off at Tan Ky Old House and the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, before taking part in a hands-on lantern- making workshop in the Old Quarter. Day 9 is spent at leisure. On Day 10, we transfer to Da Nang airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City, where we check in to our colonial-style hotel. Days 11-13. Discovering Cai Be Today’s visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels offers an opportunity to learn about the nation’s wartime history. In the afternoon, we return to Ho Chi Minh City for a tour of the city’s historic sites. On Day 12, we visit Cai Be for a rowing-boat excursion to observe the fascinating water-based way of life. Later, we transfer to our five-star hotel on the edge of Can Tho overlooking the Mekong. Day 13 is at leisure. Days 14 & 15. Into Cambodia Waking early, we visit Cai Rang floating market before transferring to Cao Lanh, where we board an express boat for a journey into Cambodia. On Day 15, we get to know Phnom Penh on a guided tour, stopping at the Royal Palace and the impressive Silver Pagoda before visiting the poignant Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Days 16 & 17. Angkor Wat We take a scenic coach journey to Siem Reap. On Day 17, we enjoy a guided tour of Angkor Wat, beginning at Angkor Thom, the ‘Great City’, before moving on to the renowned Angkor Wat. Later, we attend a pagoda where a Buddhist monk gives us a blessing, and in the evening, we enjoy an authentic Apsara dance show. Days 18 & 19. Homeward bound Enjoy a morning at leisure at our Siem Reap hotel before we board a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On Day 19, we continue back to London Heathrow, where your exploration concludes.
