We get to know the Sri Lankan capital on Day 3 with a guided tour of its landmarks. Days 4 & 5. Sigiriya & Dambulla Today, we visit the 5th-century Sigiriya Lion Rock fortress then, on Day 5, we head to Dambulla, home to enchanting sacred cave temples. Days 6-8. Kandy & Nanu Oya On a tour of Kandy, we visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a shrine said to hold one of Buddha’s teeth. On Day 7, we take the ‘tea train’ through the misty highlands to Nanu Oya. Day 8 brings a tour of a tea plantation with a tasting. Days 9 & 10. Leopards of Yala We enjoy a scenic rail journey through dramatic landscapes, crossing the iconic Nine Arches Bridge. Rising early on Day 10, we enjoy a sunrise safari and an afternoon wildlife drive in Yala National Park – home to the largest concentration of leopards in Asia. Days 11-13. Relaxing by the coast Today, we travel along the south coast to the port of Galle, where we tour its colonial architecture. Later, we continue up the coast to our five-star hotel in Beruwala. Days 12 and 13 are free to spend as you like, with optional excursions available (payable locally). Days 14 & 15. Homeward bound We return to Colombo for free time before heading to the Colombo Lotus Tower for our farewell dinner.
