Days 1-3. Arrival in Hokkaido
After a flight from London, we land 
in Hokkaido on Day 2. On Day 3, 
we tour Otaru with our guide.
 
Days 4-6. Uncovering Tokyo
We travel by rail to Hakodate, 
sightseeing before we ascend 
Mount Hakodate by cable car. Early 
on Day 5, we visit the fish market 
before leaving for Tokyo, with a 
full day of sightseeing on Day 6.
Days 7-10. Spectacular Fuji 
In Odawara, a cable car offers 
stunning views of Mount Fuji in 
clear conditions, and we cruise 
across Lake Ashi. Day 8 takes 
us to the Mount Fuji World 
Heritage Centre before time in the 
Nakamachi District. After touring 
a miso factory on Day 9, we visit 
historic Shirakawa. On Day 10, we 
see the serene Kenrokuen Gardens 
and a former samurai residence.
Days 11 & 12. Kyoto & Nara
On a guided tour of Kyoto, we visit 
Kinkakuji temple and partake in a 
zen tea ceremony before visiting 
the historic Gion neighbourhood, 
where we enjoy an authentic 
theatre performance. Day 12 takes 
us to Nara’s serene deer park.
Days 13 & 14. Hiroshima 
Our moving tour of Hiroshima 
brings us to Peace Memorial Park, 
the Atomic Bomb Dome and the 
Peace Memorial Museum. In the 
afternoon, we travel by train and 
ferry to tranquil Miyajima, where 
we enjoy a peaceful walking tour. 
On Day 14, a bullet train takes us to 
Fukuoka, where we visit the Dazaifu 
Tenman-gu Shrine and the modern 
Kyushu National Museum.
Days 15 & 16. Homeward bound
We board our flight back to London, 
where your grand tour concludes.
