Days 1 & 2. From Calgary to Banff Your holiday begins with a flight from London Heathrow to Calgary. After breakfast on Day 2, we travel along the Trans-Canada Highway to beautiful Banff, a quintessential Rockies town nestled beneath Cascade Mountain. On arrival, there’s free time to explore. Days 3 & 4. Exploring Banff Today’s explorations include a gondola journey to the picturesque summit of Sulphur Mountain, a visit to the world-famous Lake Louise and a trip to the enchanting Emerald Lake. Later, we meet a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, known as a ‘Mountie’, before dining independently. Day 4 is at leisure to explore the town at your own pace. Day 5 & 6. Rocky Mountaineer This morning, we begin the first of our daylight journeys through Canada’s jaw-dropping scenery. Travelling in SilverLeaf Class, in unique, glass- domed cars, we marvel at panoramic views. On Day 6, we journey along the impressive Thompson and Fraser Canyons before arriving in Vancouver. Day 7. Coastal Vancouver After breakfast, we are joined by a local guide for a four-hour sightseeing tour of Vancouver’s most characterful districts, including Gastown, Canada’s largest Chinatown and leafy Stanley Park. The rest of the day is at leisure. Days 8 & 9. Cruising to Alaska Today, we set off on a seven-night cruise to Alaska. Our ship is elegant and comfortable, featuring a relaxing spa and a variety of restaurants. On Day 9, we wind through the Inside Passage, passing stunning fjords and deep inlets along the wild coastlines of British Columbia and southeast Alaska. Days 10 & 11. Wild Alaska Spellbinding Glacier Bay is one of the region’s most spectacular locations. Marvel at the bay’s tidewater glaciers, rugged fjords and shimmering mountain peaks, soundtracked by the creaks of ‘living ice’. Day 11 sees us arrive at the immense Hubbard Glacier, the longest tidewater glacier in the world. An onboard expert provides further insight into the experience. Days 12-14. Juneau & Ketchikan Cruising to Juneau, we reach Alaska’s capital and a former Gold Rush city. You have a free afternoon to explore or choose from today’s range of optional excursions (payable locally, booking in advance is advised). On Day 13, we arrive in colourful Ketchikan, where you have the day to explore. Apart from being the Salmon Capital of the World, Native Alaskan culture and art flourish here. On Day 14, we sail back to Vancouver. Days 15 & 16. Homeward bound Disembarking in Vancouver, we transfer to the airport for our flight. Landing at London Heathrow on Day 16, your holiday draws to a close.
